New to bicycling or been off your bike for a while? Is 2015 your year to get active on your bike or tackle the Seattle to Portland (STP) or Ride to Vancouver and Party (RSVP) rides? If you answered yes to any of these questions, this is the series for you! The 2015 Getting Ready to Ride Series (GR2R) is an early season 8-week progressive series that begins with a very doable first ride and adds a little mileage and elevation gain each week. Rides are offered in Seattle, East King County and South King County and you are welcome to stay with one location or explore more than one, whatever works best for you. Although the series is progressive, mileage and elevation increase gradually and riders are invited to join at any time. By the end of the series, you will be off to a strong start toward meeting your goals for the season.
All GR2R Eastside rides will be social, stay-together rides with waits at the tops of hills and critical turns along the way. We will ride trails and roads in a variety of urban, suburban and rural settings. Each ride is expected to last about 2.5 to 3 hours, but may vary depending on how the day goes. Steady rain, ice/snow and any other hazardous condition will cancel the ride. If a ride is cancelled due to a hazardous condition, it will be posted here by 9:00 am the ride day and ride leaders will not be waiting at the start.
All riders should come equipped to deal with their own mechanical problems and water/food. Please arrive at least 15 minutes early to get ready and sign the waiver. 11:00 am is our roll out time!
Printed cue sheets will be available at the start and can be obtained electronically by Friday noon prior to the ride. Please check back here for updated route information.

Revised Route
The route has been updated to a route that balances elevation and distance given that riders had a rain-out last week.

The start is at the South Bellevue Park and Ride. This location is well situated with lots of parking, but it is worth noting that P&Rs are known for theft. Please park in a central highly visible location and don't leave valuables in your vehicle to reduce your risks.
This is our finale ride of the series, and this wonderful loop around Mercer will give you a good feel of the beautiful rides you can now do that you have warmed up with GR2R. For those of you participating in CTS, this is a preview of a portion of a ride that you will be doing in a few short weeks!
