Ride Description:

Please note: During COVID-19 Phases 1.5 and 2, all Free Group Rides are limited to six total participants: the Ride Leader and five others. Registration for the ride (using the red “Register Now” button above) is REQUIRED to participate. If you decide not to ride, please unregister for this ride so that an additional spot will be made available to another.

Face coverings (for mouth and nose) are required when the group makes extended stops. Face coverings are recommended for the duration of the ride. Please bring personal hand sanitizer,  disinfecting wipes and tissues for use at rest stops.

Join us for a ride from the Ocean Shores Convention Center on a 24.8 mile route at a Moderate pace of 14-16 mph!

This route will provide a tour of the residential areas of Ocean Shores, a view of the ocean from the North Jetty, views along Duck Lake and Grays Harbor.

Let's meet in the parking lot of the Convention Center at 9:40 AM for our pre-ride safety briefing, with a departure at 10:00 AM.

Our goal will be to stay together.

Restrooms are available at the start at the McDonalds. We will stop along the way for restrooms/water as needed. We have the option to stop at the coffee shop in Oyehut.

Bring a spare tube and tools to fix a flat, just in case. Please have full fenders if the roads are wet, or you may be asked to ride at the rear of the group.

Note: If weather conditions meet the weather cancellation criterion listed above or if there are unforeseen hazardous riding conditions, the Ride Leader will post a ride-canceled note in the Comments section below at least two hours prior to the start and Ride Leader will not be at the start location.

We hope you can join us!

Comments

Yes, we are riding tomorrow! Ocean Shores is in Air Quality Alert - Yellow.

Currently we have some smoky haze along with a marine layer. The marine layer provides moisture which helps reduce the dryness associated with the smoke. Winds are pretty light from the SSW.

I rode yesterday afternoon from Auburn up the Interurban and Green River Trails. It was hot and dry, but not uncomfortable. The air here in Ocean Shores is much clearer in comparison.

It is up to you to decide if you will ride or not. Certainly, a consideration is if you have any kind of respiratory condition.

Just a reminder, I will be following the COVID-19 guidelines set by Cascade Bicycle Club.

I look forward to seeing everyone for this nice riding tour of Ocean Shores.
