Ride Description:

Meet at the Statue of Liberty at 61st and Alki.  Route will take us from West Seattle to cycling the Mercer Island Loop.  Due to Covid-19, we will not be stopping at a restaurant for lunch.  Please bring a lunch with you and we will have lunch at Aubrey Davis Park on Mercer Island.

Ride pace will be high steady to low moderate pace.  At start of Mercer Island loop, ride leader will encourage riders to ride whatever pace they want around Mercer Island. It makes it better for keeping social distancing and most rides around Mercer Island, riders choose to ride their own pace anyways.

Cue sheet and map is attached.  Please bring with you to the ride.

In case it is needed, please come prepared with a pump, spare tube and patch kit.

Please RSVP by clicking on the red "Register Now" button under the ride title above, then checking the box for "Waiver Signature".  This will save us time at the start.  Note that the on-line RSVP requires a Cascade Bicycle Club account, which is easy to set up, but if you don't want one of those, just come anyway and sign the hard-copy waiver form.  Please do whatever you can to electronically sign in advance to minimize sign in at the start of the ride.

If weather is questionable or if ride leader shows signs of any "potential" symptoms of Covid-19, I will post cancellation of ride in the Comments section two hours prior to the start of the ride.

Added safety precautions:  On this ride, riders must maintain social distancing on and off the bike (at least 6 feet).  Avoid bunching at intersections, stop lights and stop signs. No one will get dropped if they get stuck at a red light.  Because health officials have specified that older people and people with compromised health issues, you should take this into account when deciding to do the ride.

As of 16 March, Cascade Bicycle Club and the Rides Committee have decided to suspend Free Group Rides through the end of March and reevaluate the situation surrounding the coronavirus at that time.

Bicycling is still a great way to exercise and boost your immune system during this time of public health advisory. We encourage you to find a way to continue to ride your bike in a responsible and safe way during the upcoming weeks.

Thank you for your patience and understanding as we navigate these difficult times. We look forward to riding as a group again soon. Stay safe and healthy.
