Please join us for a LESS Hills ride!  This is a less hilly alternative to Wednesday night's "Midweek Outdoor Riding in Evening" series, with a target of 20 to 25 miles. It is a perfect way to add a little training for otherwise weekend riders without spending too much time. And it’s a great way to enjoy the long daylight of Pacific Northwest spring and summer.

This week we head up to Northgate, then wind through several NE neighborhoods, returning to the start via Ravenna and along Green Lake. This will mostly be rolling terrain, with one more continuous climb near the midpoint of the route.

The start location will be Lower Woodland Park. We will ride on urban Seattle/Shoreline streets, as well as some trails. We will keep the published pace on flats, but you can go uphill at your own pace and regroup at the top. We will keep the group together on these rides.

Please pack cue sheet, water, snack, and tools/tubes to fix a flat as always. Even though the majority of ride will be in daylight, please have your lights (both front and back) just in case of any hold-ups.

We will roll at 6 pm, so please arrive ready to ride at 5:45 pm to listen to the safety briefing and any other instructions. Registering online will make the process easier and we can better prepare with appropriate number of Ride Leaders.

Weather notice: In case of inclement weather, the ride leader will post a cancellation notice in the comments section below not less than two hours prior on the day of the ride, and Ride Leaders will not be at the ride start.

Comments

After pre-riding, adjusted the mid-point climb and removed a few other short steep hills; total elevation gain is now 977'. They were much steeper in person compared to what it showed on Ride with GPS elevation profile. If you already saved a copy of the route, may need to re-download. Otherwise, the route it quite fun!
