Tour de Brunch Rides Again! This is the April ride in a series, generally on the last Sunday of each month, followed by brunch, in the Tacoma / Gig Harbor area. Credit for this series to Doug Pfeffer, who got me hooked on his Tour de Brunch series last year. This month's ride is a week early to avoid conflict with another event.
Ride #12 : It's April - time to add some mileage and elevation! Brunch at the Hub is going to be especially delicious after tackling the hills of Gig Harbor and Kitsap County. There are some flatter sections between hills! As a participant in "Bike to a Business - Gig Harbor", the Hub offers a 10% discount on food purchases to all customers who arrive by bike. Links to route on Ride with GPS, The Hub and Bike to a Business - Gig Harbor, below.
Pace is moderate - defined at 14-16 miles per hour on flat windless terrain. We will regroup after hills and before turns if we get spread out. Ride is more social than training - slightly slower riders and faster riders who can pace down a bit are welcome. If you are new to Cascade Free Group rides, please click on "Read our newcomer information" at the top. Please send a message or post a comment if you are unsure if this is a good ride for you or if you have any other questions.
Helmets are required for all participants on Cascade Free Group rides. Some other good things to have: a charged cell phone, ID, water and snacks, supplies to fix a flat (spare tube, pump, tire levers) fenders on your bike if roads are wet, front and back lights. Bring a credit card and/or cash, especially if you are staying for brunch. A lock for your bike is also a good idea.
Register for the ride by clicking the red "Register Now" button at the top. Basic Cascade Bicycle Club memberships are now FREE - so become a basic member if you do not already have an account (or just be sure to show up at 8:45 so you can sign the waiver before we ride at 9:00).
Cancellation Policy: Steady rain cancels. If the ride is canceled, the cancellation will be posted in the comments section below before 7:00 am and ride leader will not be at the start.
