EAstside Ride The Hill DREAM rides are focused on helping strong riders get stronger by training on challenging hills. You can ride the hills at your own pace; we will regroup at the top. EARTHDREAM rides emphasize teamwork and cooperative riding in a way that is fun and encourages each rider to develop their cycling skills.  Our pace tends to be consistent especially on hills where the climbs are fast and strong.  Riders who struggle to maintain a vigorous pace may find it challenging to stay with the group.  We will attempt to accommodate people with a range of abilities, but riders who are significantly off the group pace should come prepared to finish the ride on their own if necessary.

This week's ride is very hilly, starting with some good hills in Bothell - Kenmore area. There will be one stop at the Juanita Starbucks. After that we loop through Kirkland, hit Novelty Hill, and return to Woodinville via Hollywood Hill. The route is designed to stay relatively close to the start so that we can easily head back if we get too cold and wet.

The starting location is at Woodinville Sports Fields.  There are heated restrooms and free parking.

If you click the "Register Now" button on this page it saves you from having to sign in at the start of the ride.  Also, it gives me an idea of how many people to expect. Please register at least two hours before the start of the ride.

Please plan on arriving at least 15 minutes before the start of the ride so you can get signed in, hear the pre-ride briefing, and be ready for an on-time start.  All riders must be present for the briefing in order to participate.

Ice, snow and steady rain cancels this ride.  If the ride is canceled due to weather, a notice will be posted in the comments 2 hours prior and the ride leader will not be at the start.  Be sure to check back on this web site for weather updates if the weather is in doubt. Please bring long fenders if the roads are wet or rain is in the forecast.

There is a little bit of mist coming down at my house right now.  We will still do the ride, but please bring a bike with fenders.  I am bringing my rain bike.  Our pace will be a little slower today than usual.

OK, we just had a shower pass through, arguably more than "a little bit of mist."   But don't let that deter you!  I am still planning on riding.  I don't think the rain will last.  The roads will be wet, though, so you will need fenders....
