A social hilly ride visiting the "hill" neighborhoods in Redmond - Education Hill, English Hill, Hollywood Hill and Ring Hill, with a coffee stop at Starbucks at mile 20. There are 3 places where we connect neighborhoods via unpaved trail sections. These are walkable with your bike. Sanicans at start location but no water; bring full water bottles. Bring pocket food and money for coffee/food at Starbucks. Parking is in the newer larger parking lot on the south side of 116th (aka York Road) at the far east end of the park; the lot entrance is just before a short steep hill leaving the park.
Frost, ice, snow, or freezing conditions will also cancel the ride. In event of weather conditions being poor as described above, I will post a cancellation notice in the comments section below by 8:30 a.m. on the day of the ride. Rain during the ride could amend the route. Please be sure to check the comments section of the posting before driving to the start.
Please arrive and be ready to ride by 10:45 as we will have the safety briefing and depart promptly at 11am. Please print a cue sheet from the link provided if you would like one.
If you have a Cascade account you may register in advance by clicking the Register button at the top of this posting. If your plans change you do not need to unregister. You are also welcome to sign in at the start.

Route Change due to frost
The shady hills of this route (my neighborhood) are quite frosty and the frost persisted into the afternoon yesterday. Today will be no different. I will do this nice little route another day when it is safe. I am proposing we stay near the lake to avoid frost risk and do a Lake Samm loop, which will be slightly more miles (31) and half the elevation gain :( We can do a lunch stop in Redmond. So I will be at the start and if you are so inclined will see you there. A Lake Samm route can be accessed at www.ridewithgps.com/routes/29185295
one more thing
I should have also added that if we encounter frost or ice despite our route change, for safety sake I will stop the ride and go for coffee. Want to be sure this is good for all of you before you make the drive to the start.
