EAstside Ride The Hill DREAM rides are focused on helping strong riders get stronger by training on challenging hills. You can ride the hills at your own pace; we will regroup at the top. EARTHDREAM rides emphasize teamwork and cooperative riding in a way that is fun and encourages each rider to develop their cycling skills. Our pace tends to be consistent especially on hills where the climbs are fast and strong. Riders who struggle to maintain a vigorous pace may find it challenging to stay with the group. We will attempt to accommodate people with a range of abilities, but riders who are significantly off the group pace should come prepared to finish the ride on their own if necessary.
By popular demand we have another route this week that features a series of insanely steep hills. The first half of the route is mostly in the Kirkland and features some challenging routes up Finn Hill. There will be one stop at the Kingsgate Safeway, not too far from the start. The second half of the ride is mostly in Bellevue, and is still hilly but has about half as much climbing as the first half. The route is designed to be easily cut short in case we get hit with bad weather.
The starting location is at the Kirkland Transit Center in downtown Kirkland. There are heated restrooms available and four hours of free parking under the library. We will meet between the library and the restroom just off of 3rd street.
If you click the "Register Now" button on this page it saves you from having to sign in at the start of the ride. Also, it gives me an idea of how many people to expect. Please register at least two hours before the start of the ride.
Please plan on arriving at least 15 minutes before the start of the ride so you can get signed in, hear the pre-ride briefing, and be ready for an on-time start. All riders must be present for the briefing in order to participate.
Ice, snow and steady rain cancels this ride. If the ride is cancelled due to weather, a notice will be posted in the comments 2 hours prior and the ride leader will not be at the start. Be sure to check back on this web site for weather updates if the weather is in doubt. Please bring long fenders if the roads are wet or rain is in the forecast.

Rain Expected
The new forecast calls for rain starting at 10:00. Please bring fenders and rain gear!
No, rain is not expected
Sorry for the confusion, but the forecast says that rain is supposed to start at 10:00 PM, not AM. So we are OK. See you there!
