Let's do lunch! We'll ride out of Bothell Ski & Bike traveling from Kenmore through Lynnwood to Edmonds where we'll have lunch at the Red Twig Cafe (about the 16 mile mark). Our stop will be about 20 - 30 minutes depending on the size of our group and food ordered.
If you like climbing or want to improve your climbing this ride is for you. The ride to Edmonds has a good share of hills sprinkled along the route, but they are pretty moderate with breaks here and there and then a fun downhill into Edmonds. Our return from Edmonds includes a substantial amount of climbing to make sure we work off that lunch. Woodway is about one mile and fairly moderate, then there are a few shorter climbs on our way to "the climb". Innis Arden, which has some significant grades at times is also about a mile in length. It's a fairly unrelenting climb, so please factor in all of the climbing as well as the pace when determining if the ride is for you. We'll have a reprieve on the Interurban Trail, a moderate climb through Mountlake Terrace, and a fun downhill back into Kenmore.
We'll maintain a moderate pace (14-16 mph) on the flats w/o the benefit or hinderance of wind, slower on the uphills, faster on the downhills. This is a stay together ride, so riders may climb at their own pace and we'll regroup as necessary at the top and bottom of hills. For the well-being of the group, regroups will be no longer than five minutes.
Riders should bring a spare tube, patch kit, pump, tools, and knowledge to repair flats and minor mechanical issues. Please have a backup plan in case of a major mechanical (someone to call for rescue or an ORCA card). It happens!
Fenders are appreciated unless it is bone dry on the roads. This is for the safety and comfort of your fellow riders as well as yourself. No fenders means you are happy to ride in the back.
Plan to arrive at least 15 minutes early in order to prepare yourself and your bike prior to the safety briefing. Ride starts promptly at 10:00.
Restrooms available at the start.
Parking: Please park in the spaces on the west side of the lot so that we do not impede Bothell Bike's customers.
Registration: To save time at the start, please register for the ride by clicking on red Register Now button. There is no need to unregister should you find you are no longer able to ride.
Cancellation: Should conditions call for a cancellation day of ride, a cancellation notice will be posted in the comment section below at least two hours prior. This includes steady rain, freezing temperatures, frost/ice on roads, high winds, or poor air quality. If weather is questionable please check here before leaving for start. Ride leader will not be at the start if conditions call for cancellation prior to ride.

REVISED ROUTE!!!
My apologies, but there is a slight route change. I accidentally posted the route without the Maple/Ash intersection detour which is under construction. As such, the route is modified slightly, increasing the distance to 35.8 miles and the elevation to 2093'. Additionally, your ride leader has been hit with a fever so Marc Means will be leading the ride tomorrow. It breaks my heart to be missing out on riding in such lovely weather with all of you!
