There is a four hour parking restriction at Log Boom Park. If you are concerned it might be enforced you can park on NE 175th St heading into the park.
This moderate paced ride will do the north end of Lake Washington, cross I-90, loop Mercer Island counterclockwise, and return via Bellevue, with a food stop in south Kirkland. Start at Log Boom Park or meet us at the Leschi Starbucks at about 11:15. Contact the ride leader by text if you plan to meet us at Leschi (in case we change the route). Depending on weather and mood of the group, the route may be shortened to skip the Mercer Island loop. There's also an option to skip the last climb 400 ft on Juanita Drive by staying straight on 98th/100th/Waynita Way to the BGT.
Weather: Forecast for rain, snow, ice/frost or other unsafe riding conditions will be cause for cancellation, in which case the moderate pace ride leader will not be at the start at Log Boom Park and the cancellation will be posted (in Comments, below) at least 2 hours before the start.
Please be considerate of other riders by using full fenders and mud flaps if rain is expected or the roads are wet.
We usually stop for lunch, depending on route and weather. There are restrooms at the start and at coffee/lunch stops.
A RWGPS route or cue sheet is provided at the link below. Please print or download it if you want to have it during the ride.
Please come with the equipment and know-how to take care of your own flats and mechanicals (or with a plan for getting back to the start if your bike won't take you there). Please be at the start and ready to ride at least 10 minutes early for safety talk.
You can save time at the start by pre-registering here up to two hours before the start. Make sure you are logged into your CBC account (you don't have to be a member to have an account), click on REGISTER NOW, check the waiver box, and you're good to go. You don't have to un-register if you don't make it to the ride.
