Join us for a special ride from the Route Master himself, Per Sunde. Per has graciously allowed me to use this special route. This route is part of the Boos Varkens rides. The route is designed for the experienced rider who is comfortable with multiple steep climbs in succession. The reward is an equal amount of fun descents!
We will be climbing hills in the Isaquah area. Climbing the backside of Squak, climbing Montreaux and Somerset just to name a few.
There will be a Rest Stop/ Restroom break at 13.1 miles at Lewis Creek Park. There will be limited opportunities to buy food or water along the way. Please come prepared with adequate food and water.
Please register for this ride in advance on the Cascade site. Online registrations are accepted until 6 AM of ride day, after that all riders must register at the ride start. In addition, those who register in advance, please check in at the ride start to verify attendance.
The ride will start promptly at 10 AM from the Issaquah Valley Elementary School / Dodd Field Park. The parking lot is located behind the school along School District Road by the baseball fields. There are not restrooms at the start. Please arrive early enough to set up, check in and/or sign the ride waiver, and participate in the ride overview and Cascade S.M.A.R.T. talk Please print off and bring cue sheet. Please be knowledgeable and equipped with tubes, pump, etc to handle flats or minor mechanicals. If roads are wet, full fenders with long mudflaps are highly recommended. A good headlight and taillight are recommended. Helmets are required to ride. Cancellation: Ice, snow or otherwise unsafe riding conditions will cancel this ride. In the event of a cancellation, a notice will be posted in the comments section in both the Cascade and Meetup postings.
