Join us for a social 19 mile bike ride. We leave from the 15th Street (Auburn) Park N Ride and head north making our way to the Kent Station for hot chocolate at Dilettante Mocha Café. Let's have some fun and wear your brightest most colorful holiday socks! We will be using trails along with some low traffic roads and one gentle incline. This ride is a stay together ride where you will learn bike safety, enjoy the outdoors and gain friendship. Join us!
"Leisurely pace" is 10-12 mph on the flat surface without any headwind. Average walking speed is around 3 mph, so we will be 3-4 times faster! If you are not sure about your pace, please join us anyway, but study the route and bring a printed cue sheet with you. We can help you read the cue sheet if you need to return to the start early.
You should dress appropriately for the weather, but you do not need spandex or other specialized bike gear. Please dress accordingly for cold and wet weather. It is good to dress in layers, having hand warmers, water and snacks is highly recommended. All you need is a working bike and a helmet. If you haven't ridden your bike for quite some time, please do an ABC Check (link below) or take it to your local bike shop a few days before the ride date.
Please arrive 30 minutes before the published start time to ready your bike, check in and participate in the safety and ride briefing. We will go over hand signals and what we say during the ride to keep ourselves safe.
Please sign an e-waiver by clicking on the “Register Now” button at the top of this page (right below the ride title) and enter your information. This will help us plan how many Ride Leaders to have. If you cannot make the ride, you do not need to unregister.
Showers or more severe weather will cancel the ride. Ride cancellation will be announced in the comments section at least two hours before start time, and the ride leaders will not be at the start.
There are No restrooms at the Park N Ride, Restroom 6 miles.
If you have questions, please contact the Ride Leader.
