For this nominally lunch-time ride, we'll head out from Wilmot Gateway Park (by the Pergolas next to the Sammamish River Trail) in Woodinville and then ascend Hollywood and Novelty Hills returning back over Hollywood Hill - we'll be using some different segments than we have used recently as this area is rich in alternative routing options for new views of old hills. We'll have a short break (15 minutes or so) at the Starbucks in Redmond Ridge. The ridewithgps route is linked below - please print your own cue sheet if you need one.
You will need long fenders unless it is bone dry out, and zero percent chance of rain forecast. Showers will cancel.
Regroups will be occasional, though not at every turn, so please bring a cue sheet or load the route on your GPS - this is a route with a lot of turns in it. We will always wait at the top of the hills, so you can climb those at your own pace.
Mechanicals will not stop the group. Please be sure you have the equipment and knowledge to change flats, plus a cue sheet to get home, or a phone to call for assistance if needed.
You should be at the start and ready to ride 15 minutes before rollout. You must attend the safety briefing and sign the waiver, or register on this page and check in at the start, in order to ride with the group. There are restrooms at the start.
I will not be at the start if weather conditions meet the criteria for cancellation (showers cancel). If the weather is such that we wouldn't start, I will post a cancellation notice in the Comments block, below, at least 2 hours prior. Please register for the ride by clicking on the red Register Now button at the top of this page. In the screen that follows, click the waiver release box, complete the Emergency Contact Number, and click on Save. By doing this you will save time at the ride start.
Mentoring is available. Please contact me if you're interested, and do know the route.

Tuesday Ride Planning
Currently there is a rain-free window projected for Tuesday ride time but they are only correct a fraction of the time at that level of forecast precision. So l’ll continue to strive to make the Ride go/no-go call by 0900 at the latest. But it looks like the roads will be wet & leafy in any event so I will likely need to use my steel touring bike if conditions permit a ride because it has fenders....but I also will only be able to ride at a low moderate pace on that bike. Let’s hope for a) sun and 70; or b) clear and dry; or c) at least not raining during our ride time! Lastly, the ridewithgps route has been slightly updated as of Monday morning to reflect some things I learned yesterday on a scouting ride.
Ride Canceled Nov 14
Multiple Doppler’s showing rain projected to be on our route during the ride times; also roads are very littered with downed limbs & assorted debris adding another hazard (pic is from my driveway which is near the middle of our route!). I will reschedule the ride - your bicycle drive train will be thanking you for not gunking it up today!
