Training advocates across WA
Free Advocacy Training
Through the Your Streets Your Say program Cascade provides people with the skills to become effective community advocates. We believe that powerful community members in any corner of the state can make their neighborhoods safer, healthier and more equitable places.
Since 2011, Cascade has trained over 175 caring neighbors living throughout the Puget Sound region and beyond. After almost a decade of sharing these trainings in person, we're excited to announce that we are going virtual as we rethink our community building during the time of COVID-19. This format still delivers the same great content, including conversations with guest speakers, case studies, small group discussions, and expert trainers. The curriculum includes the following:
1. The power of your personal story
2. Making change: how safe streets projects and initiatives take shape, who's involved, and how to participate effectively
3. Communications and media messaging
4. Building and sustaining coalitions.
This year there will be more ways than ever to get involved with Your Streets Your Say. Cascade will be hosting Your Streets Your Say throughout the year, giving advocates multiple opportunities to get involved.
