Kirkland Social: Bothell Trails and Ducks (Steady)

Let's meet at Heritage Park Parking Lot. Be ready to ride at the start time, 11:00. We will begin with the required safety briefing, a discussion of the ride, rider introductions and roll out when that's done.  All riders must attend the safety briefing to participate. If you plan to join enroute please contact the ride leader in advance to arrange for a safety briefing.

We will ride from Heritage Park to Juanita Bay Park, climb Forbes Creek Drive and wander through the neighborhood back down to 100th Ave NE.  The route continues on Juanita-Woodinville Way NE to Brickyard Rd NE where we descend to East Riverside Drive.  Next, we wander through Bothell North Creek area before heading North to the Canyon Park area.  We will return south to Beardslee Plaza for a 30-minute food/snack stop at Starbucks/Pot Belly.  The route continues south via the Burke Gilman Trail and Waynita Way NE turning East on NE 145th to avoid the road construction.  After winding through the neighborhood, we continue on 100th Ave NE and Market St to 6th St W and Waverley Way.

We will climb and descend hills at our own pace and will regroup when necessary. Riders should be able to sustain a 12-14 mile per hour pace on the flats with a commensurate level of effort on the hills.

Restrooms and water are not available at the start, but we will stop at Juanita Bay Park @ mile 1.7 and North Creek Sports Field @ mile 12.7.  Bring a spare tube and tools to fix a flat, just in case. Other things to bring are a phone, ID; cash and/or credit card; ORCA card; water and a small snack. 

Note: If weather conditions meet the weather cancellation criterion listed above or if there are unforeseen hazardous riding conditions or other unexpected events, the Ride Leader will cancel the ride and all registered riders will be sent a notification email. If the ride is cancelled at least two hours before the start, the Ride Leader(s) will not be at the start location. Please check before leaving for the ride.
