Ride Contact
Event has already happened.
The ride departs from the Woodinville Sports Fields and loops to Redmond with a rest stop at Perrigo Park. It continues through Redmond up to Woodinville with a descent back to the start. The route combines trail and road riding, traveling through the Sammamish River valley and some of the hills in Redmond, which will give you an opportunity to test your climbing and your descending skills.
Let's meet at the Woodinville Sports Fields parking lot and please be ready to ride at 9:00, arriving at least 20 minutes early so that you can get yourself prepared. We will start with a required safety briefing and ride announcements, and roll out when that's done. If you miss the briefing you will not be able to ride with the group.
****NOTE: HWY 522 CLOSURE scheduled. The news from WSDOT indicates major construction detours in place just west of Woodinvillle. PLEASE plan accordingly and give yourselves extra time to get there (or bike from a close location). Assuming WSDOT follows their schedule: from Friday evening through Sunday, East Bound Hwy 522 will be closed eastbound and South bound I-405 will both force you to detour South to NE 160 St, then North back to the Hwy 522 in order to get to Woodinville Play Fields. Last weekend this caused major delays in all directions, especially later in the morning.
If you’re driving east via Bothell Way Hwy 522 it’s strongly suggested that you park at either Wayne Park Bothell or Red Brick Road Park and ride the BGT from there, about a 15-20 minute ride.
Parking is at the Woodinville Sports Fields. If that lot is full, continue through the parking lot to find weekend parking behind City Hall. Restrooms and water are available across the street at Wilmot-Gateway Park and at the mid-point in Perrigo Park.
Bring a spare tube and tools to fix a flat, just in case. Please have full fenders if the roads are wet, or you may be asked to ride at the rear of the group.
If weather conditions meet the weather cancellation criterion listed above or if there are unforeseen hazardous riding conditions or other unexpected events, the Ride Leader will cancel the ride and all registered riders will be sent a notification email. If the ride is cancelled at least two hours before the start, Ride Leader(s) will not be at the start location. Please check before leaving for the ride.
Please also keep an eye out for emails with any final updates.
