Free Group Ride
Winter Virtual Cycling Series #6 (FulGaz training app)
Event has already happened.
This is a winter virtual cycling training series ride. If you want to avoid the Pacific Northwest winter weather but still enter spring fit and ready to enjoy the roads, then this ride is for you. Not only will you maintain your cycling fitness, but you'll be able to have a social interaction with other riders.
The distance and elevation shown are for the longer/harder ride offered at the same time. You always have the option of riding the shorter/easier ride. Consult the ride schedule in the downloaded documents for the week-by-week distances and elevations.
We'll be using the FulGaz app along with your smart trainer and your bike to ride indoors in a series of group rides. Each week you can choose to ride a shorter/easier route or a longer/harder one; it's your choice. The goal is to build your strength and endurance so you can really feel ready to tackle those big cycling goals in 2024 and to have some fun doing so.
The series begins the first Sunday in November and ends on the last Sunday in February, just in time to hit the drying roads as spring returns. We'll take a break on Christmas and New Year's weeks. The start location is wherever you have your bike and smart trainer!
Additional information regarding this ride is available in the the downloadable documents available to you after you email me expressing your interest in the series. This includes documents that explain a lot more about the series and the group ride schedule for the series. Please read those materials carefully and get your FulGaz subscription going so you can familiarize yourself with the app. If you have additional questions regarding group riding on FulGaz or using a smart trainer, please contact me with questions.
If you are contemplating getting a smart trainer, this series can help you put it to good use! If you miss a series group ride, you can still ride the route on your own within the 2-week time window that I've set up for each ride.
If you want to ride with the group on scheduled ride days, be sure to boot-up FulGaz ahead of the start time. Do any warm up you desire, and download the ride video. Open the series Discord Channel if you want to participate in the social side of the ride. The group ride will be start at 9:30AM on ride day and you should be ready to ride then.
I will be able to answer questions on the Discord Server shortly before the ride start and during the beginning of the ride.
Email me with your interest in riding in this series and I'll send you a link to download the series documents.
Note that the distance and elevation listed here are for the 'longer' option, as listed in the ride schedule download. I will be riding the longer option but you may choose to ride the shorter option. No matter which option you choose, we will all be socially connected through our Discord session.
I look forward to riding with you in this series!
