Woodinville-Lake Joy Loop

Join us for a  scenic and somewhat hilly ride from Woodinville to Carnation, around Lake Joy and back to Woodinville. 

We will start at the Woodinville Sports Field parking lot and ride over Hollywood Hill to Trilogy Parkway, Redmond Ridge and a descent into Carnation where we have our first rest stop at Starbucks mile 27.7. From there we proceed to the Snoqualmie Valley Trail for a short ride over hard packed dirt (a 25mm tire should be fine). Then we go up Stillwater Hill for a short,steep climb onto Kelley Road around Lake Joy and meandering our way back to Duval where we will stop at a convenience mart and have a water, food and rest stop at mile 49.2. From there we ride up the hill on Woodinville Duval Road and back to the start. 

We will ride at a Moderate Pace of 14-16 MPH and limit our speed on any multi-use trails. Climbs and descents are at each rider's own pace.  We will regroup at the top of hills, and occasionally to make sure the group stays together. 

Let's meet at the Woodinville Sports Field parking lot and please be ready to ride at 8:30 AM. We will start with a required safety briefing, and roll out when that's done.  If you miss the briefing you will not be able to ride with the group.  Parking, restroom and water are available at the start.

Bring ID; spare tube, tools, patch kit, pump, and skills to fix flats; and have a phone and a plan for rescue if your bike fails.  If roads are wet, fenders with long mudflaps are very highly recommended - otherwise you may be asked to ride at the rear of the group.

Note: If weather conditions meet the weather cancellation criterion listed above or if there are unforeseen hazardous riding conditions, the Ride Leader will post a ride-canceled note in the Comments section below at least two hours prior to the start and Ride Leader(s) will not be at the start location.
