Earlier Centennial Trail - Snohomish to Nakashima Barn
Ride Contact
Event has already happened.
Join us for a ride from Snohomish to the Nakashima Heritage Barn Trailhead via the Centennial Trail! This will be a 60 mile route at Steady pace, averaging 12-14 MPH!
This is the first ride of a series of 3 planned rides to allow cyclists to maintain their endurance training for upcoming rides such as the RSVP. This is a scenic ride along the Centennial Trail, and a good way to maintain your distance abilities!
Let's meet at the Parking Area at the Snohomish Library, which is adjacent to the Centennial Trail, and please be ready to ride at 09:00. Please allow for adequate travel time to drive to Snohomish. We will start with a required safety briefing, and roll out when that's done. If you miss the briefing you will not be able to ride with the group.
We will climb and descend hills at our own pace, and our goal will be to regroup frequently. We'll also limit our speed on any multi-use paths to the legal maximum (usually 15 MPH).
Restrooms are not available at the start, but there are some nearby. We will stop along the way for restrooms (portapotties) at the Machias Trailhead (5 miles), Haller Park - which has water - (mile 22.8), and Arlington (mile 37) near Legion Park. Porta-Potties are available at the Nakashima Heritage Barn Trailhead at mile 30. We’ll plan to stop for lunch in Arlington, at Moe's on Olympic at mile 22.5. Make sure to bring extra water, as there will not be water available at the Nakashima destination.
Bring at least one spare tube and tools to fix a flat, just in case. Please have full fenders if the roads are wet, or you may be asked to ride at the rear of the group.
Note: If weather conditions meet the weather cancellation criterion listed above or if there are unforeseen hazardous riding conditions or other unexpected events, which may include excessive heat or unfavorable conditions per the A.Q.I., the Ride Leader will post a ride-canceled note in the Comments section below at least two hours prior to the start and Ride Leader(s) will not be at the start location.
We hope you can join us!
