Seattle Neighborhoods: UW & Laurelhurst & Green Lake

Join us for a ride from Gas Works Park on a 21 mile route at a Steady Pace between 12 - 14 mph.

Starting from Gas Works Park we’ll take the Burke-Gilman trail through the UW and exit it into the Laurelhurst neighborhood and then head north to Sand Point. After several miles we’ll turn south and ride through Meadowbrook, Wedgwood, Ravenna, and Green Lake as we make our way back to Wallingford and finish at Gas Works Park. We’ll have a brief rest stop in Magnuson Park at the 9 mile mark.

Let's meet at the west end of the parking lot in Gas Works park and please be ready to ride at 1:00pm. If you drive to the start, allow time to find parking. There is construction at Gas Works but with the parking lot and parking on Northlake Way there should be ample space. We will start with a required safety briefing, and roll out when that's done.  If you miss the briefing you will not be able to ride with the group.

We will climb and descend hills at our own pace, and our goal will be to stay together and have regular brief regrouping stops. We'll also limit our speed on any multi-use paths to the legal maximum (usually 15 MPH).

Restrooms are available at the start. We will stop along the way for restrooms/water at mile 9 in Magnuson Park. 

Bring a spare tube and tools to fix a flat, just in case. Please have full fenders if the roads are wet, or you may be asked to ride at the rear of the group.

Note: If weather conditions meet the weather cancelation criterion listed above or if there are unforeseen hazardous riding conditions or other unexpected events, the Ride Leader will post a ride-canceled note in the Comments section below at least two hours prior to the start and Ride Leader(s) will not be at the start location.
