LUMPs Matthews Beach - PIE RIDE North Shore Senior Center-Bothell

****NOTE: START TIME AT 11:30 A.M. FOR FULL SELECTION OF PIE***
PIE RIDE: We will ride north on the Burke-Gilman Trail to Blyth Park. From there we turn off the trail and ride Riverside Drive to the North Shore Senior Center (NSSC) in Bothell, www.northshoreseniorcenter.org. We then take a pie, brownie or cookie break at NSSC. A variety of homemade pies with ice cream and coffee are usually available for riders to purchase at a reasonable price. Please note: purchases may be with cash, charge or debit cards (plastic purchases are a minimum of $1.00). We will be there for about 30 to 45 minutes. Restrooms are available. Our return is on the Burke-Gilman Trail to our starting point at Matthews Beach.
There are currently no COVID-19 protocols listed on their website. Vaccinations are strongly encouraged. Having a mask at hand is a good idea to be sure you can gain entrance to the facility. For latest updates, see www.northshoreseniorcenter.org in the "News" section.
Route: Come, have fun, converse and enjoy this social bike ride along the Burke Gilman Trail. The terrain is flat.
Pace: Steady Pace
Cue sheets: No cue sheets provided. Stay together ride.
Fenders: If the riding surfaces are wet, please come equipped with fenders long enough to keep the person riding behind you dry or be the caboose.
Ride start: We meet at the Matthews Beach parking lot. Please be ready to ride at 11:30 a.m. We will start with a required safety briefing and roll out when that's done. If you miss the briefing you will not be able to ride with the group. Note: Water and restrooms are available at the start.
Be Prepared: Be prepared if you have a mechanical problem e.g. flat tire or have a rescue plan, e.g. bus pass (ORCA card).
Register: Please sign an e-waiver by clicking on the “Register Now” button at the top of this page (right below the ride title) and enter your information.
Parking: Free parking at Matthews Beach parking lot. Arrive early to beat the seagulls for a parking spot.
Weather cancelation: If weather conditions meet the weather cancelation criterion listed above or if there are unforeseen hazardous riding conditions or other unexpected events, the Ride Leader will post a ride-canceled note in the Comments section below at least two hours prior to the start and Ride Leader(s) will not be at the start location.

What to Know Before You Go

- Must be present at safety briefing to participate.
- Helmets required.
- Riders under 18 years old require parental consent & approval from the Ride Leader.
