CTS Red #12: Full Lake Loop and Post Ride Celebration
Ride Contact
Event has already happened.
Overview
We end our CTS series with the classic Full Lake Loop (50 miles, 1800 ft of elevation gain). We have completed this route previously, so this will be a great opportunity for you to see how much stronger you have become!
We start at Magnuson Park W-6 Parking Lot, where there are portable restrooms, but no water. Make sure arrive with enough water to last the first 16 miles!
Route description
We warm up quickly riding north along the lake on the Burke-Gilman Trail. At Bothell, we turn south and head through Kirkland. We have a rest stop and chance to refill our water bottles at Marsh Park, just south of downtown Kirkland. Then we continue south through Bellevue and along the Eastrail to Renton. After a stop at Gene Coulon Park, we ride around the south end of the lake, and head back north along Rainier Avenue. After a final rest stop at Madrona Park we continue on the familiar route back to Magnuson Park. We will finish at Cascade Bicycle Club headquarters.
Rest stops and post-ride fun
Since this is a longer ride, we'll be making a lunch stop at the Gene Coulon Park, at mile 28.5. Plan for a 20-minute stop, and you should bring your own food. (There is an Ivar's at the park, but don't count on it being a quick enough option to supply your lunch.) Water and restrooms are available at the park. We will also make two other planned stops for restrooms and water, and there are at least two optional restroom/water stops as well, if needed.
After the ride, please join us for celebratory refreshments at Cascade Bicycle Club!
Here's the list of stops:
- Mile 7.6: optional restroom stop at Log Boom Park
- Mile 16.4: planned restroom stop at Marsh Park
- Mile 28.6: planned lunch stop at Gene Coulon Park
- Mile 36.7: optional restroom stop at Seward Park
- Mile 41.7: planned restroom stop at Madrona Park
- Mile 50.4: Cascade Bicycle Club
Important details
As always, you should pack water and snacks as well as lunch, print a cue sheet and have everything you need with you to fix a flat or other mechanical issue.
