CTS Red #4: South Lake Loop w/Mercer Island

NOTE: we expect the bathrooms at Renton Community Center to be busy since yellow riders will also be using them. Please be prepared and allow extra time!

This week's ride departs from the Renton Community Center, goes north past the Seahawks Headquarters, and follows the Eastrail to the I-90 trail.  We will ride the I-90 trail west bound to Mercer Island then turn south on E Mercer Way and ride clockwise around the south end of Mercer Island before rejoining the I-90 trail and crossing Lake Washington on the Homer M Hadley Memorial Bridge.  We will have a brief celebratory stop at the East Portal Viewpoint Park for a group photo and then we ride Lk Washington Blvd S  back towards our start in Renton.  There are restrooms and water at the start, Mile 9 (Enatai Beach Park), and Mile 23.5 (Mount Baker Beach). 

We will meet at the Renton Community Center (North side, see map attached) and be ready to ride at 9:00 AM  Please arrive at least 20 minutes early so that you can get yourself and bicycle prepared for the ride.  We will start with the required safety briefing and ride announcements, and roll out when that's done.  If you miss the briefing you will not be able to ride with the group.

Be sure to review the Comments Section before the morning of the ride for any final updates.  Any route changes will be posted and this is where we communicate any weather updates and cancelations. There may also be an announcement about a post-ride gathering!!

Note: If weather conditions meet the weather cancelation criterion listed above or if there are unforeseen hazardous riding conditions or other unexpected events, the Ride Director will post a ride-canceled note in the Comments section below at least two hours prior to the start and Ride Leader(s) will not be at the start location.
