Invitation: Join us for a ride from Fall City on a 31 mile route at moderate pace, 14-16 mph.
Description: If your experience with riding in the Carnation Valley is that the cycling is easy and fun, this ride is planned to change your opinion. Not seriously, but this ride explores some of the climbs out of Carnation and it includes hill reps on Tolt Hill. After a pleasant ride from Fall City we will climb over Tolt HIll, return into the valley, cycle through Carnation to climb a steeply out of the east side of Carnation and on on our return to Fall City climb up and over Tolt HIll again.
Meeting Location and Time: Let's meet at the Fall City Community Park and please be ready to ride at 9:30. We will start with a required safety briefing, and roll out when that's done. If you miss the briefing you will not be able to ride with the group.
Ride Standards: We will climb and descend hills at our own pace. Leader will stay with group but fast riders may ride at their out pace on the flats.
Break and Restrooms: Restrooms available at the start. We will stop at Sandy's Coffee Shop at mile 17.
Repairs: Bring a spare tube and tools to fix a flat, just in case. Please have full fenders if the roads are wet, or you may be asked to ride at the rear of the group.
Cancellation: If weather conditions meet the weather cancellation criterion listed above or if there are unforeseen hazardous riding conditions or other unexpected events, the Ride Leader will post a ride-canceled note in the Comments section below at least two hours prior to the start and Ride Leader(s) will not be at the start location.
