TREATS: Juanita – Factoria – Redmond

Join us for relaxed social ride from Juanita Beach Park to Factoria, Bellevue College, then to Redmond Town Center for a lunch / coffee break at The French Bakery (mile 22).  Then it’s back over the hill on Old Redmond Road, through Rose Hill, followed by two miles on the hard pack dirt surface of the Cross-Kirkland Corridor, then down Forbes Creek Drive and back to Juanita.

Pace:  This is a Steady pace ride, 12-14 mph on the flats in the absence of wind.  We will climb and descend hills with each rider at their own pace, and our goal will be to regroup at the top of each long hill.  However, we won’t be able to wait long for anyone substantially off the pace.  Please bring navigation aids in case you need to finish on your own.  We'll also limit our speed on any multi-use paths to the legal maximum (usually 15 MPH).

Start Time & Location: Let’s meet at Juanita Beach.  Please be ready to ride at 10 a.m. We will start with the required Safety Briefing and roll out when that's done.  If you miss the briefing, you will not be able to ride with the group.

Restrooms:  At the start, at mile 2.9 in Marina Park Kirkland, and at mile 15 in Lake Hills Community Park.

Cancellation: If weather conditions meet the weather cancellation criterion listed above or if there are unforeseen hazardous riding conditions or other unexpected events, the Ride Leader will post a ride-canceled note in the Comments section below at least two hours prior to the start and Ride Leader(s) will not be at the start location.

Fenders: Please have full fenders if the roads are wet, or you may be asked to ride at the rear of the group.

Repairs: Be prepared with the equipment and know-how to take care of your own flats and mechanicals, and a plan for getting back to the start if your bike won't take you there.  If you have a problem the group will stop to make sure you will be OK on your own, but we will not wait for repairs to be completed.
