Apple Fritters and Coffee at the Black Diamond Bakery

Join us for a ride from Auburn on a 30 mile route at a moderate pace (14-16 mph). We will ride from our start at the Outlet Collection Mall (Walmart parking lot) to the town of Black Diamond. Once we arrive in Black Diamond we will stop at the famous Black Diamond Bakery to enjoy their coffee and pastries at mile 14.3. Our stop will be between 15-20 minutes long before we head back to Auburn.

Please be ready to ride at the ride start time. We will start introductions and a safety briefing and we will begin riding when that's done.  Only riders who are there for the safety briefing @ 10:00 a.m. will be able to join us on the ride. 

The ride starts with a nice flat 5.2 mile warm up before we begin climbing. The next 9 miles we climb. We have to earn that donut/fritter! The first 3.6 miles are the steepest with the last 6 miles having a more gradual incline all the way to the bakery. Which means our return trip is mainly all downhill, including a one mile long steep 9% descent to the Green Valley Road. Once we reach the Green Valley Road it's a flat road back to Auburn.

Restrooms and water are available at the start inside the Walmart store. Our next bathroom opportunity will be at the BD Bakery at mile 14.3 and there will also be an optional bathroom stop at mile 25.3 at Green Valley Meats. Make sure you have plenty to drink along the way.

Bring a spare tube and tools to fix a flat, just in case, and have a plan for getting home or back to the start in case you or your bike are unable to finish the route.

PLEASE DON'T JOIN THE RIDE IF YOU ARE NOT FEELING WELL.

Note: If weather conditions meet the weather cancellation criterion listed above or if there are unforeseen hazardous riding conditions or other unexpected events, the Ride Leader will post a ride-canceled note in the Comments section below at least two hours prior to the start and Ride Leader(s) will not be at the start location.
