Please join us for for a ride from Eastgate, around Mercer Island and Bellevue.
We will meet at the Eastgate Park & Ride (on the east side of the parking garage outside, not under cover). This will be an approximate 45 mile route at Brisk Pace (16-18mph). Please be ready to ride at 9:00am. We will start with a required safety briefing, and roll out when that's done. If you miss the briefing you will not be able to ride with the group.
We will climb and descend hills at our own pace, and our goal will be to try to stay together. We will regroup at the tops of climbs if we get separated. We'll also limit our speed on any multi-use paths to the legal maximum (usually 15 MPH).
Restrooms are not available at the start. There is no water at the start. We will make a quick restroom stop at Enatai Beach Park (Mile 5.5).
We will start with a quick tour of the Eastgate area before we head down the hill toward Mercer Island where we will stop at Enatai for a restroom stop. After our stop, we will make a loop around Mercer Island before we head north to Bellevue. We will take a rest stop at a Starbucks in Bellevue (Mile 24.1). Bring money for coffee and snacks if you would like. After our break, we will do a short climb to a viewpoint and then head off to Medina. After Medina, we will continue north to the edge of Redmond. We will then descend Old Redmond Road and turn back south for our return to Eastgate via Northeast Bellevue. We will finish our ride back at the Eastgate Park & Ride.
Riders should bring tools & knowledge to repair flats or minor mechanicals and be prepared to complete the ride on your own should your bike require repair. Please have a backup plan (someone to call or an ORCA card) if your bike will not get you to the finish.
Fenders are requested if it is wet or expected to be wet. Plan to ride at the back if you do not have fenders.
Note: If weather conditions meet the weather cancelation criterion listed above or if there are unforeseen hazardous riding conditions, the Ride Leader will post a ride-canceled note in the Comments section below at least two hours prior to the start and Ride Leader(s) will not be at the start location.
We hope you can join us!
