Sammamish to Redmond Ridge & Back
Ride Contact
Event has already happened.
Please join us for for a ride from Sammamish to the Redmond Ridge area and back.
We will meet at the South Sammamish Park & Ride. This will be an approximate 47 mile route at Brisk Pace (16-18mph). Please be ready to ride at 9:00am. We will start with a required safety briefing, and roll out when that's done. If you miss the briefing you will not be able to ride with the group.
We will climb and descend hills at our own pace, and our goal will be to try to stay together and we will regroup at the tops of climbs if we get separated. We'll also limit our speed on any multi-use paths to the legal maximum (usually 15 MPH).
Restrooms are not available at the start. There is no water at the start. We will make a quick restroom stop at Pine Lake Park (Mile 0.5).
After our quick restroom stop we will make a loop around Beaver Lake before we head north and off the Sammamish Plateau. After the descent, we will have a short section along busy Highway 202. We will ascend Ames Lake Road, take a loop around Ames Lake and then continue up Union Hill Road. We will have a coffee/rest break at the Starbucks in Redmond Ridge (Mile 22.9). Bring money for coffee and snacks if you would like. After our break, we will continue north to Woodinville Duvall Road before we turn south to start our journey back. We will continue south all the way to the shores of Lake Sammamish for some easy riding before our last challenge up Louis Thompson Road and finish our ride back at the South Sammamish Park & Ride.
Riders should bring tools & knowledge to repair flats or minor mechanicals and be prepared to complete the ride on your own should your bike require repair. Please have a backup plan (someone to call or an ORCA card) if your bike will not get you to the finish.
Fenders are requested if it is wet or expected to be wet. Plan to ride at the back if you do not have fenders.
Note: If weather conditions meet the weather cancelation criterion listed above or if there are unforeseen hazardous riding conditions, the Ride Leader will post a ride-canceled note in the Comments section below at least two hours prior to the start and Ride Leader(s) will not be at the start location.
We hope you can join us!
