Free Group Ride
TREATS: Five Trails Loop
Event has already happened.
Join us for a ride from the East Lake Sammamish Trailhead in Redmond on a 42 mile ride at steady pace of 12-14 MPH (on the flat terrain.
This route covers portions of five trails including the Lake Sammamish, Marymoor Connector, Sammamish River, Burke Gilman, and 520 trails. This ride will pass through Redmond, Woodinville, Bothell, Kenmore, Lake Forest, Sandpoint, and the U District before crossing Lake Washington on the 520 bridge. After crossing Lake Washington, the ride ascends through Bellevue and Kirkland, before descending back into Redmond.
Let's meet at the the East Lake Sammamish Trailhead (behind Whole Foods) where restrooms and water are available. Please be ready to ride at 10 am. We will start with a required safety briefing, and roll out when that's done. If you miss the briefing you will not be able to ride with the group.
We will climb and descend hills at our own pace, and our goal will be to regroup frequently. We'll also limit our speed on any multi-use paths to the legal maximum (usually 15 MPH).
Restrooms are available at the start. There will be a restroom and water stop at Log Boom park in Kenmore around mile 15. There will be a coffee and food stop at the Metropolitan Market in Sand Point at mile 23. There will be an optional restroom stop at Bridle Trails State Park around mile 33.
Bring a spare tube and tools to fix a flat, just in case. Please have full fenders if the roads are wet, or you may be asked to ride at the rear of the group.
Note: If weather conditions meet the weather cancellation criterion listed above or if there are unforeseen hazardous riding conditions or other unexpected events, the Ride Leader will post a ride-canceled note in the Comments section below at least two hours prior to the start and Ride Leader(s) will not be at the start location.
We hope you can join us!
