Woodland Park Fall Coffee Ride #3
Ride Contact
Event has already happened.
Fall is here, and it's time to ride our bikes . . . for coffee! Maybe you've heard of coffeeneuring, an online international challenge each fall to keep people riding their bikes when the weather turns less welcoming. The challenge is to ride your bike to 7 different locations over 7 weeks, with a minimum of 2 miles each ride, and enjoy a coffee-like beverage each time (more info on the challenge in the link below). If you are up for this fun little challenge, you can make 6 of those rides with this series. You would just need to do one more on your own or with another group ride. All that said, you do NOT need to be pursuing the challenge to join these rides!
This week's ride is 5.6 miles, and we'll ride at a leisurely pace (10 to 12 mph on flats with no wind). Our coffee destination is Light House Coffee Roasters.
Let's meet at the Lower Woodland Park Ball Fields parking lot, near Softball Field #6, and please be ready to ride at 10 a.m. We will start with a required safety briefing, and roll out when that's done. If you miss the briefing you will not be able to ride with the group.
We will climb and descend hills at our own pace, and our goal will be to regroup frequently.
A portable toilet is available at the start. Our coffee stop is at 1.3 miles.
Bring coffee money. Also, bring a spare tube and tools to fix a flat, just in case. Please have full fenders if the roads are wet, or you may be asked to ride at the rear of the group. If you would like a cue sheet for the ride, you can print one from the Ride with GPS file below.
Note: Since the point of the ride is getting out and staying on our bikes into the fall, we will not let a little bit of water deter us. But in the event of "steady rain" as listed above, or if there are unforeseen hazardous riding conditions or other unexpected events, the Ride Leader will post a ride-canceled note in the Comments section below at least two hours prior to the start and Ride Leader(s) will not be at the start location.
We hope you can join us!
