Join us on a 28.6-mile ride from Log Boom Park to Madison Park, at a Moderate pace 14-16 MPH! The pace of this ride is based on having no wind and being on a flat road. If there is a headwind or a hill, the pace will be lower, if we have a tailwind or downhill, the pace may be higher. Due to the number of similar routes, I ride version numbers are used, versions of the same ride may have very different elevation profiles, keep this in mind when deciding to do this ride.
This is a ride along the Burke Gilman Trail and eventually to Madison Park Starbucks before winding our way back to our start point.
Let's meet at Log Boom Park (17415 61st Ave NE, Kenmore, WA 98028), be ready to ride at 9:45 a.m. We will start with a required safety briefing and roll out when that's done. If you miss the briefing, you will not be able to ride with the group.
We will climb and descend hills at our own pace, and our goal will be to stay together. We will also limit our speed on any multi-use paths to the legal maximum (usually 15 MPH).
Restrooms are available at the start, please use street parking along NE 175th St, rather than the parking lot at Log Boom Park.
Bring a spare tube and tools to fix a flat, just in case. Please have full fenders if the roads are wet, or you may be asked to ride at the rear of the group.
Note: If weather conditions meet the weather cancellation criterion listed above or if there are unforeseen hazardous riding conditions or other unexpected events, the Ride Leader will post a ride-canceled note in the Comments section below at least two hours prior to the start and Ride Leader(s) will not be at the start location. We will be mentoring Bobbie Howard on her second ride, lets get her started out right. We hope you can join us!
