Small Chainring Monday: 2 Bridges Lap Counter-clockwise
Event has already happened.
Suffering a lactate hangover? Then Small Chainring Monday is for you. Small Chainring Monday is a high-cadence "active recovery ride" for cyclists who have spent the weekend riding at a strenuous, super strenuous, or race pace. The pace for this ride is under 18mph on the flats.
This week, join an 21-mile counter-clockwise "Two Bridges" lap that crosses the north side of Mercer Island, weaves north through Beaux Arts Village, Bellevue, and Medina, back across the 520 bridge, then returns to the start via Leschi. This is a different route than previous editions of Small Chainring Monday.
Meet at the west side of the I-90 Bike Tunnel in Sam Smith Park and please be ready to ride at 6:30PM. We will start with a required safety briefing, and roll out when that's done. If you miss the briefing you will not be able to ride with the group.
Our goal will be to stay together. We'll also limit our speed on any multi-use paths to the legal maximum (usually 15 MPH).
Restrooms are available at the start. There are no planned stops during this ride.
Be prepared to to fix a flat or take care of other minor mechanical issues.
Note: If weather conditions meet the weather cancellation criterion listed above or if there are unforeseen hazardous riding conditions or other unexpected events, the Ride Leader will post a ride-canceled note in the Comments section below at least two hours prior to the start and Ride Leader(s) will not be at the start location.
We hope you can join us!
