Ride Around Bear Creek and Redmond Ridge

We will start from the first parking lot upon entering Farrel-McWhirter Park on a 21.5 mile ride through the area east of Avondale Rd. in Redmond, passing over Bear Creek on116th and then again while going up 133rd, cutting through Tuscany, Hedges and Lake of the Woods areas.  We'll take a lunch break at the Village at Redmond Ridge and then back down through Union Hill and Novelty Hill areas, again crossing Bear Creek and returning to Farrel-McWhirter Park.  We will discover a couple of handy community connectors.  Steady rain cancels the ride, but If it rains while on the ride, there are lots of options to shorten it.  

Please be ready to ride at 10a.m.. We will start with a required safety briefing, and roll out when that's done.  If you miss the briefing you will not be able to ride with the group.

We will climb and descend hills at our own pace, and our goal will be to stay together.   We'll limit our speed on Evans Creek Trail to the legal maximum (usually 15 MPH).  Also, we will be only on snippets of Novelty Hill and Union Hill and both have shoulders wide enough for bikes.

Restrooms and water are available at the start in the park and halfway along the ride at our lunch break at Village at Redmond Ridge.

Bring a spare tube and tools to fix a flat, just in case. Please have full fenders if the roads are wet, or you may be asked to ride at the rear of the group.

Note: If weather conditions meet the weather cancellation criterion listed above or if there are unforeseen hazardous riding conditions or other unexpected events, the Ride Leader will post a ride-canceled note in the Comments section below at least two hours prior to the start and Ride Leader(s) will not be at the start location.
