Free Group Ride
FRUMPS: 60 Acres-Carnation loop with a TREAT (9:30am start)
Ride Contact
Event has already happened.
Join us for a ride from Redmond to Carnation and back on a 47-mile route at a steady pace (12-14 MPH on flats)! Our route takes us from the Sammamish River Trail to the Snoqualmie River Valley and its quiet, rural roads. We'll stop for refreshments to refuel prior to climbing out of the valley.
Let's meet at the South Lot of 60 Acres Park (where the Remote Airplane Field is) and please be ready to ride at 9:30 so we can beat some of the possible heat. We will start with a required safety briefing, and roll out when that's done. If you miss the briefing you will not be able to ride with the group.
We will climb and descend hills at our own pace, and our goal will be to regroup frequently, as needed.
Port-a-johns are available at the start, so please be prepared with plenty of water. There are restrooms about 200 yards down the street closer to the Sammamish River Trail if you prefer to use those prior to our ride meeting.
We will stop along the way for restrooms & water at Beaver Lake Park (mile 14), and we will stop for coffee/snacks at Sandy's Espresso at mile 29. We can opt for additional an water/restroom stop at Perrigo Park (mile 42) if needed and don't mind adding a mile to our route.
Bring a spare tube and tools to fix a flat, just in case. Please have full fenders if the roads are wet, or you may be asked to ride at the rear of the group.
Note: If weather conditions meet the weather cancellation criterion listed above or if there are unforeseen hazardous riding conditions or other unexpected events, the Ride Leader will post a ride-canceled note in the Comments section below at least two hours prior to the start and Ride Leader(s) will not be at the start location.
We hope you can join us!
