FRIDAY RIDERS: Edmonds and Three Lakes

Join us for a ride from Martha Lake Airport Park on a 27 mile route at a Leisurely pace --10-12 mph.

We'll catch glimpses of Martha Lake as we head to the Interurban Trail in Lynnwood, then make our way into downtown Edmonds via streets.  We'll have a lunch stop at Red Twig Cafe before cruising along Sunset Ave and then making our way up the long grade of Olympic View Drive.  Then we'll skirt Lake Serene and Lake Stickney and rejoin the Interurban Trail on our way back to our starting point. 

This ride is a mentoring opportunity. Please contact the ride leader at least 6 days in advance so that you have time to familiarize yourself with the route. Ideally, we will pre-ride the route together. 

Let's meet at Martha Lake Airport Park  and please be ready to ride at 10am. We will start with a required safety briefing, and roll out when that's done.  If you miss the briefing you will not be able to ride with the group.

We will climb and descend hills at our own pace, and our goal will be to stay together.  We'll also limit our speed on any multi-use paths to the legal maximum (usually 15 MPH).

Porta-potty is available at the start.  We will  stop for lunch/coffee/snacks and a restroom at Red Twig Cafe  at mile 12.  If the line is too long at Red Twig, we'll head up to Bistro 76 at mile 16. There's another porta-potty stop at mile 22.

Bring a spare tube and tools to fix a flat, just in case. Please have full fenders if the roads are wet, or you may be asked to ride at the rear of the group.

Note: If weather conditions meet the weather cancellation criterion listed above or if there are unforeseen hazardous riding conditions or other unexpected events, the Ride Leader will post a ride-canceled note in the Comments section below at least two hours prior to the start and Ride Leader(s) will not be at the start location.
