Free Group Ride
FRUMPS: Lake Sammamish with a Twist (or Two)
Ride Contact
Event has already happened.
Join us for a ride from Sixty Acres Park in Redmond on a 47 mile route at 12-14 MPH!
It's time to up our mileage a bit on these FRUMPS rides, and this is a longer ride with not too much elevation so it fits the bill!
Let's meet at the parking lot of Sixty Acres Park (closest to the remote plane airfield) and please be ready to ride at 10:00AM. We will start with a required safety briefing, and roll out when that's done. If you miss the briefing you will not be able to ride with the group.
We will climb and descend hills at our own pace, and our goal will be to regroup frequently. We'll have some hills in Redmond (Education Hill), along West Lake Sammamish Parkway, and a partial climb of the Newport Way Hill. The rest of the ride will be a mix of flat trails, smaller rolling hills, and a little bit of more urban riding along Avondale Way and near our lunch stop in Issaquah.
Port-a-johns are available at the start. We will stop along the way for restrooms/water at miles 11 & 41(Marymoor Park). We’ll also have a 30 minute lunch stop at the PCC in Issaquah (mile 30).
Bring a spare tube and tools to fix a flat, just in case. Please have full fenders if the roads are wet, or you may be asked to ride at the rear of the group.
Note: If weather conditions meet the weather cancellation criterion listed above or if there are unforeseen hazardous riding conditions or other unexpected events, the Ride Leader will post a ride-canceled note in the Comments section below at least two hours prior to the start and Ride Leader(s) will not be at the start location.
We hope you can join us!
