Kenmore, and Cross Kirkland Mixed Terrain with tandems

Join us for a ride from Log Boom Park on a 34-mile route at Moderate 14-16 mph.

Jacquie and I wish to share with you one of our favorite north end routes on our tandem. Starting at Log Boom Bark (under construction so as to close as possible) we will bike to Kirkland avoiding most of Juanita drive. We will explore the Kirkland waterfront with a restroom stop at Marina Park. Next, we head south to the south end of the cross Kirkland Trail (easy gravel) which becomes Eastrail Trail (Still Gravel). Near the winery, we hop onto the Sammamish River Trail and take it back to the start.

Let's meet at the Logboom Park and please be ready to ride at 10:00 am. We will start with a required safety briefing, and roll out when that's done.  If you miss the briefing you will not be able to ride with the group.

We will climb and descend hills at our own pace, and our goal will be to regroup occasionally. There are a couple of short amazing sections with lots of pedestrians. In these sections, we slow down to about 5-6 mph or walk if necessary for respect and safety. There are also 2 short sections above 13% that is ok to walk if you have to.

Restrooms are not available at the start. We will stop along the way for restrooms/water at mile 12. 

Bring a spare tube and tools to fix a flat, just in case. Please have full fenders if the roads are wet, or you may be asked to ride at the rear of the group.

Note: If weather conditions meet the weather cancellation criterion listed above or if there are unforeseen hazardous riding conditions or other unexpected events, the Ride Leader will post a ride-canceled note in the Comments section below at least two hours prior to the start and Ride Leader(s) will not be at the start location.
