CTS Red #10: Redmond-Snohomish
Ride Contact
Event has already happened.
PLEASE NOTE THIS RIDE STARTS AT 8 A.M.
This will be the first time of the season that we venture into the rural beauty of local farmlands and the grandeur of the Snoqualmie river valley. The ride will start out of the Bear Creek Park and Ride in Redmond. We will have a start of ride restroom break just two miles down the road at Perrigo Park.
This ride asks you to stretch out a bit, after our slight "step back" week, adding both mileage and elevation - you are ready!! After we warm up on some flat areas in and around Woodinville, we'll climb over the ridge to the east and then drop into the Snoqualmie River Valley and ride some rollers and fun flats into the town of Monroe and a rest stop at Lake Tye Park (mile 26). Then we do the long easy rise of Old Snohomish Monroe Road to Snohomish, where we'll stop for about 20 minutes for water, food and bathrooms at the Haggen Foods (mile 35). After Snohomish, we'll have our last long climb up Broadway and out of the valley to Maltby for our last rest stop (mile 44). Then we return via Woodinville to our end point in Redmond with an optional bath room stop 2 miles from the finish. It's a beautiful ride!
As of 6/12/22 the water fountains at our rest stop in Malty are not turned on; however, the sinks are working and are fairly water bottle friendly! And, if all else fails, there is a convenience store within 2 miles.
Let's meet at the Bear Creek Park & Ride in Redmond, and be ready to ride at 8:00am. Arrive at least 20 minutes early so that you can get yourself ready. SMART briefing and ride announcements start at 8:00 a.m and we will roll out when those are done. Riders not present for the safety briefing will not be allowed to ride with the group.
Be sure to bring snacks and consider adding electrolytes to your water, especially if it is warm/sunny. It may be time for sunscreen also. And remember, layers are your friend!
Be sure to have the tools needed to fix a flat: tire levers, spare tube and/or patch, pump and a lot a patience!
Please review the Comments Section before the morning of the ride for any final updates. Route may be updated there as well as weather updates and cancellations.
