Join us for a ride from Martha Lake Airport Park on an 16 mile route at a LEISURELY PACE (10-12 mph).
We'll roll down Maple Road, then begin a gradual climb up to Lake Stickney. Then we'll make our way to the Silver Lake area, where we'll stop for lunch at Piroshky and Crepes. For those of you keeping track, the third lake is Martha Lake, which we'll get glimpses of at the start and end of the route.
Let's meet at the parking lot of Martha Lake Airport Park at 10am for our pre-ride safety briefing, and we'll leave shortly afterwards.
We will climb and descend hills at our own pace, and our goal will be to stay together. We'll also limit our speed on any multi-use paths to the legal maximum (usually 15 MPH).
There is a porta-potty available at the start. We will stop along the way for a porta-potties at miles 7. This stop has no running water. Our lunch stop has a restroom.
Bring a spare tube and tools to fix a flat, just in case. Please have full fenders if the roads are wet, or you may be asked to ride at the rear of the group.
Note: If weather conditions meet the weather cancellation criterion listed above or if there are unforeseen hazardous riding conditions or other unexpected events, the Ride Leader will post a ride-canceled note in the Comments section below at least two hours prior to the start and Ride Leader(s) will not be at the start location.
