**CANCELLED** Woodinville Social Ride for Coffee 2 (Note 10 a.m. Start)
Ride Contact
Event has already happened.
Join us for a ride starting from Wilmot Gateway Park in Woodinville on an approximately 43 mile route at a Steady pace (12-14 mph on the flats.) This is a route starting on the Eastside that merges hill climbing with some fairly flat terrain using bike trails, bike lanes and largely quiet neighborhood streets.
Now that we are solidly into the New Year of 2022, it is time to get back on (or continue) our riding during this cooler and sometimes more challenging weather. This week we will ride around Lake Sammamish using the "classic" route which is now available again after a long hiatus due to a construction project. We will have a short rest stop at Idylwood Park at mile 10.7. We will have a second 25-minute combined coffee and rest stop at a Starbucks in Issaquah at mile 21.9. Please bring suitable funds if you plan to purchase food or drink at our coffee stop. A downloadable ride map and cue sheet for GPS navigation devices is at the Link, below.
Let's meet at the Wilmot Gateway Park by the tables under the pergolas in the park at 10:00 a.m. We will start with a required safety briefing and roll out when that's done. If you miss the briefing you will not be able to ride with the group.
This ride will be at a Steady pace, which means that to keep up with the group you must be able to maintain a speed of 12-14 MPH for more than four hours on flat terrain with no tailwind. Each rider, however, can climb hills at their own pace, and we will regroup at the top. A downloadable ride map and cue sheet are at the link below. If you don’t have a GPS unit or cell phone guidance, please print a cue sheet so you can navigate the route.
Please send a message if you are unsure if this is a good ride for you or if you have any other questions. Electric-assist bicycles are welcome.
Restrooms and water are available at the start and at the rest stop. Please bring any snacks you may want to have during the ride.
Bring a spare tube and tools to fix a flat, just in case. Please have full fenders if the roads are wet, or you may be asked to ride at the rear of the group.
If you are driving to the start, please consider adding a little extra time for your travels as youth athletic activities have started recently and parking might have to be a little farther away than what you have experienced over the last couple of months.
Note: If weather conditions meet the weather cancellation criterion listed above or if there are unforeseen hazardous riding conditions or other unexpected events, the Ride Leader will post a ride-canceled note in the Comments section below at least two hours prior to the start and Ride Leader(s) will not be at the start location.
We hope you can join us!
