**CANCELLED** Lake Sammamish Hot Lap

Join us for a quick and early ride around Lake Sammamish from East Sammamish River Trailhead on a 24-mile route at Vigorous pace (18-20 mph on the flats). 

To start the weekend right we'll go fast around Lake Sammamish - with a slightly hilly detour on the west side due to construction work on the parkway. The second half on the east side of the lake is nice and flat with a good shoulder so we'll try to pick up the pace a bit to finish strong. 

Let's meet at the trailhead parking lot behind Whole Foods and please be ready to ride at 9 a.m. We will start with a required safety briefing, and roll out when that's done.  If you miss the briefing you will not be able to ride with the group.

We will climb and descend the couple of small hills at our own pace, and our goal will be to regroup occasionally. We'll also limit our speed on any multi-use paths (the short portion on the actual Lake Samm trail) to the legal maximum (usually 15 MPH).

Restrooms (portapotty) are available at the start. We will not stop along the way for restrooms/water because this is a short ride. Optional coffee after the end of the ride at Peet's.

Bring a spare tube and tools to fix a flat, just in case. Please have full fenders if the roads are wet, or you may be asked to ride at the rear of the group.

Note: If weather conditions meet the weather cancellation criterion listed above or if there are unforeseen hazardous riding conditions or other unexpected events, the Ride Leader will post a ride-canceled note in the Comments section below at least two hours prior to the start and Ride Leader(s) will not be at the start location.
