Let's Ride Gig Harbor's Cushman Trail
Ride Contact
Event has already happened.
Let's ride Gig Harbor's beautiful and friendly Cushman Trail !
We'll meet at the Kimball Park and Ride near the trailhead (adjacent to Wilco) at 11:00am and start with introductions and a brief safety talk.
If you dusted off your bike and realize that it has not benefited from resting in your garage for a while, Old Town Bicycle is just down the street - pop in and get some help from their expert mechanics. (If you suspect your bike is going to need more than minor tweaks, consider taking care of it before the day of the ride.)
The route is two out and backs - first along "old Cushman" going towards the bridge and then on "new Cushman" going towards Borgen Boulevard. New riders or riders that haven't been out for a while are encouraged to come, as are more experienced riders who are up for a social ride and supporting others.
This is a family friendly ride - please see the "information for parents" linked below for details. If you are new to Cascade Free Group rides, please see the "information for newcomers" linked at the top.
The trail has water fountains and washrooms that we will stop at as needed. It also has a few hills that we will take at our own paces and regroup after.
There will be optional post ride socializing at Kimball Coffeehouse, across the street from the start location. Riders may opt out of the second half of the ride if they wish and head there early.
Helmets are required for all participants on Cascade Free Group rides. Some other good things to have: a charged cell phone, a credit card and some cash, ID, water and snacks, supplies to fix a flat (spare tube, pump, tire levers) fenders on your bike if roads are wet, front and back lights, a face covering, hand sanitizer, kleenex.
Cancellation Policy: This is a ride to get folks hooked on biking. Lousy weather will cancel and I will post it for another time - cancellation notice will be on the ride posting here at least two hours prior to the start time and registered riders will also receive an email at the address they used for their registration.
