Gravel Ride from North Bend to Hyak and back

Join us for one of the most scenic gravel rides from North Bend to Hyak on Snoqualmie Pass. We will start on the Snoqualmie Valley Trail and ride to Rattle Snake Lake where we will connect with the Iron Horse Trail and proceed to Hyak. The ride elevation is a steady grade of about 2%  with a total of 56 miles round trip. We will pass through the old abandoned railroad tunnel at Hyak so please bring a warm layer and headlight as the tunnel is about 20 degrees cooler and very dark. 

There is water available only at the start and at Hyak  so please bring plenty of water.  Restrooms are available at the start, at Hyak and there are frequent porta potties along the trail. We will stay together and ride at a steady pace of 12-14 MPH and have a few rest stops along the way. Note that this is a gravel ride so please bring your gravel bike, recommended tire width is minimum of 35cm.There will be no services along the trail so please be self reliant and bring any supplies, food and water you deem necessary for a safe enjoyable ride.

Let;s meet in the parking lot at Torguson Park in North Bend and please be ready to ride at 9:15am.  We will start with a required safety briefing and roll out when that's done. If you miss the safety briefing you will not be able to ride.

Bring ID; spare tube, tools, patch kit, pump, and skills to fix flats; and have a phone and a plan for rescue if your bike fails.  If roads are wet, fenders with long mudflaps are very highly recommended - otherwise you may be asked to ride at the rear of the group.

Note: If weather conditions meet the weather cancellation criterion listed above or if there are unforeseen hazardous riding conditions, the Ride Leader will post a ride-canceled note in the Comments section below at least two hours prior to the start and Ride Leader(s) will not be at the start location.
