Edison-Birch Bay Century

Join us for a ride from Edison Elementary School on a 101 mile route at High Brisk (18 MPH)!

This will be a scenic tour of Skagit and Whatcom Counties keeping close to the cool Salish Sea air on what should be a beautifully sunny PNW day!

Let's meet at the Edison Elementary School and please be ready to ride at 9:00AM. We will start with a required safety briefing, and roll out when that's done.  If you miss the briefing you will not be able to ride with the group.

We will climb and descend hills at our own pace. We will try to stay together, but riders who can't maintain the pace must be prepared to navigate the course on their own."  Fair warning!  We'll also limit our speed on any multi-use paths to the legal maximum (usually 15 MPH).

Restrooms are NOT available at the start. We have bathroom availability along the way for restrooms/water at miles 8,24,37,62, and 87. (OPTIONAL) We’ll also stop for food, water, and bathrooms at Haggen's Grocery Store at miles 37 and 87. Other possibilities for food water are near these same locations. Please plan your nutrition, water, and electrolytes accordingly. This not a particularly hilly ride, but it is a century. 

Bring a spare tube and tools to fix a flat, just in case. Please have full fenders if the roads are wet, or you may be asked to ride at the rear of the group.

Note: If weather conditions meet the weather cancellation criterion listed above or if there are unforeseen hazardous riding conditions or other unexpected events, the Ride Leader will post a ride-canceled note in the Comments section below at least two hours prior to the start and Ride Leader(s) will not be at the start location.
