Renton - Maple Valley + Maxwell Rd & Jones Rd

Today’s ride will put together the Cedar River Trail and a couple of side street loops that add a few hills.  We start at Ron Regis Park in Renton and turn around at the end of the paved trail in Maple Valley.  We’ll take a pause here to grab snacks and drinks before we head back downhill.  On the return we will jump onto Maxwell Road for another couple hundred feet of climbing, then quickly back down the hill on Cedar Grove Road.  At the Belmondo Reach Natural Area we jump onto Maple Valley Highway for about 1000 feet.  This often has heavy traffic and almost no shoulder space, so riders need to be aware of and comfortable with this section.  From there we transition onto Jones Road that has a couple of miles of beautiful rolling hills.  And finally, back to the trail for the remaining mile, returning to the Park where we started.

Porta Potties are available at the ride start location.

Weather:  If weather conditions meet the weather cancellation criterion listed above or if there are unforeseen hazardous riding conditions or other unexpected events, the Ride Leader will post a ride-canceled note in the Comments section below at least two hours prior to the start and Ride Leader(s) will not be at the start location.

Mechanical issues: You should be prepared to fix a flat tire, with tools, tubes and the ability to change the tire yourself. We recommend having a backup plan in case you are unable finish the ride.

Let's meet at Ron Regis Park in Renton, near the porta potties, and please be ready to ride at 10:00. We will start with a required safety briefing, and roll out when that's done.  If you miss the briefing you will not be able to ride with the group.
