Great Scott! Thursday Social

Explore Seattle's back streets at a comfortable pace with a sociable crowd. Every Thursday, a regular bunch of old friends and a curious bunch of new friends ride as far as evening light permits, venturing places seldom seen via routes seldom taken. We won't go looking for a challenge (we'll never ride the Counterbalance), but neither do we avoid one; we'll gradually top a hill or two and savor the view along the way. Bring money for dinner afterward. Heavy rain means we eat early.

This Week's Ride

This week we'll head north to Green Lake, climb to the Maple Leaf neighborhood, follow Greenways west through Licton Springs, Crown Hill and Loyal Heights to Sunset Hill, and return along favorite Ballard bike routes. See link below for details. Future rides will range from about 12 to 18 miles with varying elevation gains, depending on the length of daylight and ride leader's whims:-)

For Every Ride...

Please meet at Gas Works Park 15 minutes before the ride start for the safety briefing. Carry water, a spare tube and tools to fix a flat, just in case and front and rear lights are recommended for your ride home. Always bring your sense of humor and patience; this is a Great Scott ride:-)

Note: If weather conditions meet the weather cancellation criterion listed above or if there are unforeseen hazardous riding conditions or other unexpected events, the Ride Leader will post a ride-canceled note in the Comments section below at least two hours prior to the start and Ride Leader(s) will not be at the start location.
