Great Scott! Thursday Social

Explore Seattle's back streets at a comfortable pace with a sociable crowd. Every Thursday, a regular bunch of old friends and a curious bunch of new friends ride as far as evening light permits, venturing places seldom seen via routes seldom taken. We won't go looking for a challenge (we'll never ride the Counterbalance), but neither do we avoid one; we'll gradually top a hill or two and savor the view along the way. Bring money for dinner afterward. Heavy rain means we eat early.

This Week's Ride

This week we'll tour a bit of the UW, bike through the Arboretum, wind through Interlaken Park, circle Lake Union and return via Westlake and Fremont... see link below for details. Please don't expect a route map each week. Future rides will range from about 12 to 18 miles with varying elevation gains, depending on the length of daylight and ride leader's whims:-)

For Every Ride...

Please meet at Gas Works Park 15 minutes before the ride start for the safety briefing. Carry a spare tube and tools to fix a flat, just in case. Always bring your sense of humor and patience; this is a Great Scott ride:-)

Note: If weather conditions meet the weather cancellation criterion listed above or if there are unforeseen hazardous riding conditions or other unexpected events, the Ride Leader will post a ride-canceled note in the Comments section below at least two hours prior to the start and Ride Leader(s) will not be at the start location.
