FRIDAY RIDERS: Bike Gas Works to Medina
Ride Contact
Event has already happened.
Join us for a ride from Gas Works Park on a 15.6 mile route at leisurely pace(10-12 mph). We will bike from Gas Works to and across the 520 Bridge and then to and around Medina. The Bridge is three miles across and has some pullouts for great views of Lake Washington and on clear days Mount Rainer and Mount Baker. While many homes in Medina are recessed from the street in Medina, the landscaping is outstanding.
Let's meet at Gas Works parking lot at 9:50 am for our pre-ride safety briefing, with a departure at 10am.
We will climb and descend hills at our own pace, and our goal will be to stay together.
Restrooms are available at the start and the Medina Police Station. We will stop along the way for water and snacks at about 6 miles, the Bridge overlook on the Medina side. We will return by lunch time so you can lunch on your own but consider bring snacks for our stops on the route.
Bring a spare tube and tools to fix a flat, just in case. Please have full fenders if the roads are wet, or you may be asked to ride at the rear of the group.
Note: If weather conditions meet the weather cancellation criterion listed above or if there are unforeseen hazardous riding conditions or other unexpected events, the Ride Leader will post a ride-canceled note in the Comments section below at least two hours prior to the start and Ride Leader(s) will not be at the start location.
We hope you can join us!
