Event has already happened.
Please note: During COVID-19 restrictions, all Free Group Rides are limited in the number of allowed participants. Registration for the ride (using the red “Register Now” button above) is REQUIRED to participate. If you decide not to ride, please click the red "Cancel My Registration" button above so that an additional spot will be made available to another.
Face coverings (for mouth and nose) are required when the group makes extended stops. Face coverings are recommended for the duration of the ride. Please bring personal hand sanitizer, disinfecting wipes and tissues for use at rest stops.
We will observe current social distancing guidelines when off the bike, and strive to maintain at least 10-12ft separation between riders when on the bike.
Join us for a ride from Beaver Lake on a 63 mile route at Vigorous pace of ~19mph (on flats with no wind)!
Starting from Beaver Lake we'll make our way East towards Snoqualmie and climbing up to Lake Alice and then crossing over through the Snoqualmie Ridge community. We'll continue East towards North Bend and then climb up to Lake Wilderness (via Uplands Way). We turn around at Lake Wilderness and make our way back with a small detour to enjoy the view from Ernie's Grove and a couple more climbs at Tolt Hill and Duthie Hill Road.
Let's meet at the Beaver Lake parking lot (on SE 24th St) at 8:45am for our pre-ride safety briefing, with a departure at 9:00am.
We will climb and descend hills at our own pace, and our goal will be to regroup at top of the climbs. Strong climbers are welcome to go ahead of the pack and wait up at the top. The regroup spots are marked on the map. We'll also limit our speed on any multi-use paths to the legal maximum (usually 15 MPH).
Restrooms are available at the start. Based on demand, we will stop along the way for restrooms/water at miles 16.6 (downtown Snoqualmie) and 46 (Fall City). We’ll also stop for coffee/snacks at Huxdotter Coffee in North Bend at mile 31.
Bring a spare tube and tools to fix a flat, just in case. Please have full fenders if the roads are wet, or you may be asked to ride at the rear of the group.
Note: If weather conditions meet the weather cancellation criterion listed above or if there are unforeseen hazardous riding conditions or other unexpected events, the Ride Leader will post a ride-canceled note in the Comments section below at least two hours prior to the start and Ride Leader(s) will not be at the start location.
We hope you can join us!
