Event has already happened.
Please note: During COVID-19 Phases 1.5 and 2, all Free Group Rides are limited to six total participants: the Ride Leader and five others. Registration for the ride (using the red “Register Now” button above) is REQUIRED to participate. If you decide not to ride, please unregister for this ride so that an additional spot will be made available to another.
Face coverings (for mouth and nose) are required when the group makes extended stops. Face coverings are recommended for the duration of the ride. Please bring personal hand sanitizer, disinfecting wipes and tissues for use at rest stops.
Join us for a ride from Log Boom Park on a 67 mile route at Brisk Pace 16-18 MPH.
This enjoyable scenic country ride with views of the beautiful West Snoqualmie River Valley, Skykomish River, Mount Index and on a clear day an impressive view of Mount Rainier. This route provides great conditioning and is a favorite of participants, with its mix of flats and hills. We ride on the Burke-Gilman trail and good roads, through Woodinville, Monroe and Sultan and return on an alternate route. See the attached photos on the link below.
Park: *Park on the shoulder of the road (there is plenty of space available) not in the parking lot, because there is now a 4 hour parking limit imposed by the city of Kenmore, and we will arrive after that time period.
Meet: in the Log Boom Park on the sidewalk between the parking lot and the bathrooms. I will have on a silver helmet, and Ride Leader Jersey and riding a black bike.
Supplies: You will need to bring at least one full sized water bottle, which we will refill with Ice water at the Sultan Bakery. Bring a snack to eat while riding.
Let's meet at Log Boom Park at 930 AM for our pre-ride safety briefing, with a departure at 10 AM.
We will climb and descend hills at our own pace and regroup at the top of hills, and stay together on level ground. We ride at a Brisk Pace of 16-18 MPH. We'll also limit our speed on any multi-use paths to the legal maximum (usually 15 MPH).
Restrooms are available at the start, in Log Boom Park. We will stop along the way for restrooms/water at 23 Miles at Lewis Street Park and again on our return route at about 43 miles from our bakery stop, because no restrooms are available at the Sultan Bakery where we will stop for beverages and snacks at mile 33.
Bring a spare tube and tools to fix a flat, just in case. Please have full fenders if the roads are wet, or you may be asked to ride at the rear of the group.
Note: If weather conditions meet the weather cancellation criterion listed above or if there are unforeseen hazardous riding conditions, the Ride Leader will post a ride-canceled note in the Comments section below at least two hours prior to the start and Ride Leader(s) will not be at the start location.
We hope you can join us!
